The first annual conference committee was formed in late 2017. Each year a new committee is formed with members who are interested in the conference theme. The committee meets monthly from May through December and bi-weekly in January. The conference is typically held during "Vasaloppet Week" each February.
About the Gene Anderson Memorial Conference
The Kanabec County EDA hosts an annual Economic Development conference for the region's business community. The purpose is to provide businesses with educational and networking opportunities to encourage business stability and growth in the Kanabec County region. In late 2021, the annual conference was permanently named the Gene Anderson Memorial Conference in honor of the late County Commissioner and EDA Member Gene Anderson.
