SUBDIVISION AND PLATTING
EXEMPTIONS AND LAND SPLITS

Subdivision and Platting must meet the requirements of Kanabec County Ordinance #4 (see below).
Please contact us with any questions.
An exemption application is required to divide a tract of land into a separate parcel or a minor subdivision, unless the split is a complete quarter/quarter section or complete government lots.
You must have at least 300' of PUBLIC road frontage on each parcel (driveways and easements are not considered public road).

Along with the application and fees, we require septic soil borings showing ability to support a building lot on each new undeveloped parcel and a map showing the split and the signature from the township's official.

Township approval is required.  Some townships are more restrictive than the County.
