Childcare Committee:  Childcare Capacity Builders

Formed in October of 2019, the EDA's childcare committee was created to support existing & newly licensed family child care businesses in Kanabec County.  In-home and center-based child care operations are small businesses that are important to the local economy.  Employers need employees.  Employees need child care.  That is why child care is an important EDA issue.  The vision statement of the Childcare Capacity Builders (CCB) is to "Build capacity and advocate for quality and affordable child care options in the community to ensure a family-centered workforce".  

The work of the CCB group is made possible by the EDA, the Initiative Foundation's Child Care Solutions program and First Children's Finance.

The CCB group meets monthly to ensure the implementation of its strategic plan.  A PDF of the original 2019 plan is available for download below.  A PDF of the revised plan is also posted below.
