Kanabec County offers two types of fingerprinting services to the public for non-criminal purposes; electronic fingerprinting and photo through the DHS, and fingerprinting on FD-258 cards with ink through law enforcement.  Please read the following instructions carefully.  


NETStudy 2.0 Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Study

WHAT TO BRING:  You MUST bring your Fingerprint Authorization Form and a valid photo ID.  Click here to view a sample Fingerprint Authorization Form.

HOURS:  Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:00pm – no appointment needed. Closings will be posted on the county calendar here

LOCATION:      Kanabec County Courthouse 18 N Vine St, Suite 181 (first office on left, immediately inside front doors)  Mora, MN 55051

PAYMENT:  If the place that requested your background study did not pay for the fingerprinting and photo service, you will need to pay the $9.10 fee.  
Payment can be made:
          1.    In person by check or money order.  Cash is NOT accepted.
          2.    Online using a credit or debit card.  Click here to pay online.

                 1-844-332-7671 Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm


Fingerprint Card, Form FD-258

To have your fingerprints taken on a federal FD-258 background card, you must make an appointment at the jail.  Click here to view a sample Form FD-258.
